Billy Club?

Mascot Punches guy at Wrigleyville Bar. ::ORIGINAL:: by My Cat Rupert on YouTube

If there’s anything worse than actually being a team’s mascot, it has got to be acting as the team’s “unofficial” mascot.

Enter “Billy Cub.”

Apparently, several men have been trolling Wrigleyville for the past several years donning this bear suit with hopes and dreams of becoming the Cubs mascot on the regular.

Only the team despises the idea. So, this video of “Billy” throwing a punch at a bar patron who pulled off his lid ain’t gonna help their case.

Why do the Cubs hate this adorable fella? Well, you do the research.

A better question? Don’t any of these dudes have a real job?

Flag Burning

Atlanta Braves American Flag Catches on Fire- Opening Day 2014 by John E on YouTube

You know the drill. What could be more American than a baseball game, the Star Spangled Banner and a few fireworks, right?

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light  What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?

And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave.

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Only things didn’t go quite as planned at the Atlanta Braves home opener against the New York Mets.

You see by the end of the “rockets red glare” and the “bombs bursting in air”… the flag, alas, was not still there.

Well not all of it anyway.

On a lighter note the Mets smoked the Braves 4-0. Oh, wait, that’s bad news for the Braves.

Never mind.

Clubs of Glory?

Masters Thoughts With Will Ferrell: A Bubba-Rory Pairing Would Be Trouble by Golf.com on YouTube

The PGA tour has kicked off and while some find the sport to be dry or dare I even say boring this series of videos by Will Ferrell may just change your mind.

Ferrell, an avid golf fan, explains how he would change The Masters if he were in charge of this steeped-in-tradition event. He’ll even let you in on a few secrets like the little known rivalry between Rory and Bubba.

Plus, he’ll teach you tricks like how to score a corn dog, how not to get kicked out of the tourney and why he’d like to get Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson on board.

To watch all the clips including how Ferrell would honor the beloved Eisenhower Tree by making key chains out of it, click here on CBSSports.com.

Questionable Knowledge

Bruce Drennan response to stupid question by Jamie Battaglia on YouTube

Remember a couple of weeks ago, when I introduced you to the Jeopardy contestant who gave the lamest answer to a sports question ever?

Well, we’ve met his competition.

During a taping of sports-talk show SportsTime Ohio a man called with what might be the most ridiculous sports question ever. And he got an equally ridiculous response from veteran radio host Bruce Drennan.

I’m not quite sure what’s worse. The actual question or Drennan thinking the question is legit?

Can you imagine if Mike Francesa’s producer let that call through?

Uniformly Foolish

Husky Football // New Uniforms Revealed by Washington Husky Football on YouTube

For the most part I’m against the April Fools’ pranks. First of all, in order to be funny and/or effective they usually have to be somewhat cruel. And I’m just not into that.

Washington, Huskies head coach Chris Petersen managed to score a big foolish win, however, when he revealed the team’s "new" uniforms.

I particularly like the word “Dawgs” written across the butt.

I just wish Petersen pretended they were designed by Victoria’s Secret.

Enjoy watching the team squirm.
