SWISSVALE (KDKA) -- A Swissvale family had a close call when a paving truck crashed right into their living room Friday afternoon.

According to neighbors, a truck driver was loading a cement paver onto the trailer when the whole thing began rolling down Jeremias Street.

The paver ended up on the ground, getting dragged down the hill. The driver, who had been on the trailer, jumped off.

Exactly where Jeremias Street runs into Krist Glenn Drive, the truck and trailer crashed into a home, cracking its foundation, with the cab of the truck ending up in the basement.

"It was such a loud boom, it felt like the house was shaking," one eyewitness, who did not want to be identified, said. "I thought, 'Oh my god, a plane hit us.'"

Officials say the truck crashed into the side of the house where the family room is located.

No one was hurt, but the damage to the structure was significant.

Investigators say they have several things they can look at as to what caused the truck to roll. One concern is possibly the brakes. The other is the steepness of the hill.
