Trooper Assaulted While Responding To Domestic Dispute

JACKSON TWP. (KDKA) -- A Pennsylvania State Trooper was assaulted on Saturday when he responded to a domestic dispute in Jackson Township.

It happened around 1:15 p.m. on Franklin Road.

According to a police report, troopers knew there were firearms at the residence prior to arriving.

Upon arrival, authorities found 41-year-old Michael Allen Marsh in the driveway.

When they informed him he would need to go to the hospital for a mental health evaluation, he began to push past them in an attempt to enter the home.

As troopers tried to restrain him, Marsh began to strike and shove them, leaving one Trooper with a head wound.

Marsh was eventually taken into custody and has been charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
