Tree Rivers Paintball Park Adds "Zombies" For Halloween

FREEDOM (KDKA) -- In the dark of night, fearless riders in the 24-seat Zombie Fighting Vehicle mow down the "Zombies of the Corn."

Armed with paintball guns, their pellets find their marks.

To preview the attraction, Debra Krischke takes us on the Woodland Trail through Freedom.

She and her husband, Ryan, just recently added zombies to their repertoire at Tree Rivers Paintball Park.

"This is actually our 32nd year we'll be celebrating," Ryan Krischke says. "We're one of the first paintball fields in the country. We've been at this facility for 20 years."

"They aren't dead yet," Debra cries, as we take aim at a pair of approaching "zombies." It turns out that the paintball is zombie Kryptonite.

The course covers 70 acres.

"We're coming up on the zombie prison," Debra says.

A prison break is part of the story line.

We check our paintball guns at the door as we enter the Spooky House. The dinner option is boiled brains, as a severed "hand" dances on the table.

Zombies make their prison break Friday and Saturday nights, through October.
