Train Crashes Into Vehicle On Tracks In Westmoreland County

EAST VANDERGRIFT, Pa. -- Crews responded to a train that crashed into a vehicle in Westmoreland County.

It happened Wednesday morning around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Kennedy Avenue.

911 Officials say the vehicle stalled on the tracks.

The driver got out of the car and tried to flag down the train, but he got back in the car when the train hit.

He was not injured in the crash, but was taken into custody by Vandergrift Police.
