Tractor-Trailer Truck Crashes Into Overpass Pillar, Spills Load On Pa. Turnpike

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A tractor-trailer crashed along the Pennsylvania Turnpike early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. in a construction zone near the Freedom Road overpass between the Cranberry exit and the Beaver Valley exit.

According to state police, the double tractor trailer was hauling "a beverage substance in a 200-300 gallon container." It crashed into one of the overpass pillars and spilled its load.

The eastbound lanes of the Turnpike were blocked, but traffic was able to navigate around the accident.

Hazmat crews were called in to clean up the mess.

No injuries were reported.
