Tractor-Trailer Crash Closes Part Of Eastbound Turnpike

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) –A section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Monroeville and New Stanton was closed for hours because of an accident Friday morning.

According to Turnpike officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 58.2 around 6:40 a.m.

A tractor-trailer hauling calcium overturned, but no other vehicles were involved.

Fortunately, there are no reported injuries.

However, the wreckage was blocking all lanes in the area.

All lanes reopened shortly after 11 a.m. and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
