Tornado Watch Issued For Viewing Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A strong line of storms is expected to reach the area this afternoon, which prompted a Tornado Watch for several hours.

According to the National Weather Service, a Tornado Watch was issued for most of the viewing area, but expired at 9 p.m.

In Pennsylvania, the following counties were all affected by the watch: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Washington and Westmoreland.

The following counties in West Virginia are also under a tornado watch: Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio and Preston.

Garrett County, Md. was also under a tornado watch.
