Tony Award-Winner Harvey Fierstein Discusses His Nomination For 'Casa Valentina'

He's already a four time Tony Award winner with six total Tony's, now Harvey Fierstein talks about his nomination for the play "Casa Valentina."

Based on a true story, "Casa Velentina" is set in the Catskill Mountains during the 1960's as a place for white-collar, heterosexual men to escape their daily life and participate in their favorite pastime, dressing as women.

Fierstein use to visit the Catskills as a child with his father and had heard rumors that such a place existed. It wasn't until many years later when pictures surfaced at a local flea market that Fierstein began to research and fall in love with the idea.

Written by Fierstein and directed by three time Tony winner Joe Mantello, "Casa Valentina" is nominated for four Tony Awards including, Best Play (Harvey Fierstein), Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play (Reed Birney), Best Perfromance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play (Mare Winningham) and Best Costume Design of a Play (Rita Ryack).

The Tony Awards will air this Sunday, June 8th on CBS at 8 p.m.
