Toddler Burned In Indiana County Fire

INDIANA COUNTY (KDKA) – A toddler was burned in a house fire in South Mahoning Township.

It happened during a fire on Ox Hill Road around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighter says a 2-year-old suffered 2nd degree burns on the arm.

A helicopter was called in to airlift the child to a Pittsburgh hospital.

The fire destroyed the garage, and one vehicle, but firefighters were able to stop it from spreading to the majority of the home.

Fire officials say the smoke damage is extensive.

Firefighters say they were limited because of the rural location, and had to get water from a nearby pond to help fight the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
