State Senate Passes Bill To Raise Minimum Age For Tobacco Purchase To 21

HARRISBURG (KDKA) -- Pennsylvania could become the fourth state to raise the minimum age for buying tobacco and vaping products from 18 to 21.

The Pennsylvania State Senate passed the change and now it's heading over to the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives.

Ohio, New York, and Maryland have already raised the age to 21.

According to the American Lung Association, 95% of smokers try their first cigarette before age 21.
