Source Of Threat Against West Mifflin Area School District Found, Charged
WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) -- Police said Sunday that they had found the source of a threat made against the West Mifflin Area School District, although they will still have an increased presence on campus Monday.
The West Mifflin Police Department said on their Facebook page Saturday night that they had been made aware of a threat against the West Mifflin Area School District. In a later post, the police said the threat included a photo of a fake weapon.
The statement read, in part, "The police department and the district are working closely together and are actively pursuing all avenues of investigation and any persons involved."

On Sunday afternoon around 1:50 p.m., the police department posted an update to their Facebook page saying they, along with the school district, had discovered the source of the threat and filed juvenile charges against the individual or individuals.
West Mifflin police initially said they would have an increased presence on the district campus on Monday for safety concerns, and they say they will uphold those plans even though the source of the threat has been caught.
