The Inaugural Pirates Hot Stove Report With Colin Dunlap

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - In the first edition of the "Pirates Hot Stove Report," Colin Dunlap takes a look at some of the more pressing off-season issues the team will have to address.

"It's been something that has been a hot topic is Russell Martin. I've made it quite clear on the shows that I've done here at 93-7 The FAN - three-years, about $50 million. That's where it stops for me, that's where it does have to stop," Dunlap said about how far the Pirates should be willing to go to retain their starting catcher.

In the audio link below, you'll hear Dunlap outline some of the teams he could see trying to go after Martin.

Another off-season issue discussed in the Hot Stove Report is the future of Pirates' bench coach Jeff Banister.

Word has come out in recent days that the Texas Rangers are looking at Banister to fill their vacant manager position.

"I guess it would be a surprise if Tim Bogar didn't get that job," Dunlap said. "Banister firmly supplanted though as the number two from what I've heard from some people down in Texas."

You can also hear what the future will hold for Jose Tabata and Travis Snider, as well as what the off-season will hold for Charlie Morton as he recovers from surgery on his torn labrum.
