Testimony Continues In Trial Of Man Accused Of Dismembering Mother, Stepfather

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The trial is continuing today for a man accused of killing his mother and stepfather and dismembering their bodies.

Police arrested Frederick Harris III in 2014 at a home on Suncrest Drive in Penn Hills.

Investigators say they found Harris in a bedroom and seven garbage cans in the basement with remains inside. Police say the body parts found in the cans were those of Olivia and Lamar Gilbert.

Testimony continued today in court.

On Thursday, a detective took the stand, telling the jury one of the first things he saw when he looked inside was a human head.

The jury also saw several crime scene photos, including those of a piece of blood-soaked carpet detectives say was ripped from the floor, bottles of bleach and cleaner and a receipt for a 45-gallon garbage can from Home Depot.
