Teen Driver Crashes Into Elizabeth Twp. Storefront

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A business was badly damaged after a teen girl drove into a hardware store Sunday morning.

It happened at the R.C. Walter and Sons True Value Hardware store in Elizabeth Township.

Reportedly a 16-year-old girl drove her red Chevrolet sedan right through the front of the store, after losing control on the slippery roads. A picture from the scene shows the car completely inside the store.

The Tribune-Review reports that no one was injured. The owner of the nearly 60-year-old business tells the newspaper it was fortunate timing, because if anyone had been inside, there would likely have been injuries.

The owner also told the paper that the glass doors in front were demolished, with nothing left. Some containers of driveway sealer were also damaged he said.

The Trib reports that the store plans to reopen on Tuesday.
