Teen Arrested In Arnold Girl's Murder, Charged As Adult

ARNOLD (KDKA) -- Aaron Waters waited until outside New Kensington District Justice Frank Pallone's office waiting to look at the young man when police say shot and killed his daughter, 16-year-old Akira Waters.

"She was smart, beautiful, she'll be greatly missed," Waters said.

Court records say 17-year-old Cashann Williams was inside a home on Orchard Avenue in Arnold with Ms. Waters and another male. Williams was "playing around" with a pistol when it went off, killing the girl.

"I don't understand any of this," Waters said.

With concerns over retaliation, Cashann Williams arrived and departed his under high security. The victim's father was left left to wonder why any of this had to happen at all.

"I don't know how I'm gonna get through this, I gotta be strong for my hearing," he said.

Cashann Willams is in the Westmoreland County Jail, held with out bond charged with criminal homicide. He will be charged as an adult.
