Taillon: Mechanics Feel Better Than Ever

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan) -- Pirates pitcher Jameson Taillon joined Dan Zangrilli on Bucco Talk.

Taillon talked about how his mechanics have improved as he's rehabbed from Tommy John surgery.

"I honestly can say my mechanics feel better than they've ever felt. All I've had to really focus on and compete with is my throwing program and my throwing progression, so all my focus has strictly gone into my rehab and my throwing," Taillon said.

If all goes according to plan, what is the timetable to return for Indianapolis?

"My goal is to get back in games, whether it's in Florida or anywhere, right around my one -year mark in April. Then hopefully, I'll build up my innings down there in extended (spring training), and once I'm at five innings, which should take about a month or two, I'll be up in Indy," Taillon said.

Taillon was excited to start throwing off of a mound recently.

"It was tough to be away from it for so long. Getting back up there, I didn't want to make too big of a deal out of it because I didn't want to get too much adrenaline and try to overthrow or anything. I just wanted to get my work in. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited. It's definitely a big step," Taillon said.
