Suspicious Package Downtown Interrupts T Service

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Wood Street T station was evacuated Monday morning because of a suspicious package.

According to officials at the scene, the package was found on the outbound side of the tracks around 10 a.m.

The bomb squad was called to inspect the package. Bomb-sniffing dogs quickly determined that there was no threat.

The cardboard box contained several items. A description of those items has not been released.

Downtown T service was restored after about 15 minutes.
