Suspect Sought In North Side Carjacking & Robbery

NORTH SIDE (KDKA) – Police are searching for a carjacking suspect after an incident that began on the North Side Saturday afternoon.

According to police, the incident happened on Perrysville Avenue around 1 p.m.

A woman left a bakery and noticed a young African-American male acting suspiciously in the area.

The woman got in her car, but before she could lock the doors, the suspect opened the rear door and got in.

At that time, he pulled out a gun and forced her to drive to East Liberty. He then forced her to take out money from an ATM on Baum Boulevard.

The woman was eventually released on Livery Way and the suspect took off with the vehicle.

It was later recovered and is being processed for evidence.
