Suspect Sought After Baldwin Subway Robbed, Employee Assaulted
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are looking for the man who robbed a Baldwin Subway store and held a knife to the throat of an employee.
It happened around 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the Subway on McNeilly Road.
Police say a man went into the Subway, grabbed an employee and choked him with a knife. He also allegedly had a gun in his front pocket.
"All he said was open the drawer," said clerk Justin Price. "He didn't even take all of the money, maybe left $60. He didn't take anything off anybody else, just came up real quick and took the money."
As the robber left with cash in hand, he threatened a customer who was entering the store.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, wearing a gray hoodie and appeared to have something wrong with his right leg and was limping. He is about 6-feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds.
Police say he got away in a silver or light-colored older model Buick Regal.
And he may have left something else behind too.
"He wasn't even wearing gloves," said Price. "How are you going to rob somebody and leave fingerprints everywhere? If you're going to do this well enough to cover your face, you may want gloves."
Police are reviewing surveillance footage from inside the store.
