Suspect In Party Bus Shooting Convicted Of Third-Degree Murder

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A jury has convicted a man of third-degree murder and a firearms violation in the fatal shooting of a man who was out with friends on a party bus in 2013.

Police say James Lawrence forced 21-year-old Steven Lee Jr. off the bus on Chartiers Avenue in the city's Sheraden section in March of 2013 and shot him.

Lee suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The jury acquitted Lawrence of a conspiracy charge.

This was Lawrence's re-trial.

The previous jury was deadlocked on the charges.

So far, no sentencing date has been set.

At the time of his arrest in August 2013, Lawrence was also wanted in the shooting death of a 28-year-old woman in Beltzhoover.
