Suspect In Deadly Pizza Shop Stabbing Faces Judge

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend at a Carrick pizza shop in November of last year attended a preliminary hearing on Friday, and has been held for trial.

Dejuan Onza Windom, 25, is charged with the murder of Margaret Recasens, 28.

Officers rushed to Anthony's Pizza on Brownsville Road around 2 a.m. in November.

They found Recasens bleeding on the sidewalk and rushed her to UPMC Mercy where she was pronounced dead.

She was stabbed twice in the chest and once in the back.

Recasens' mother said her daughter had recently relocated to get away from her abusive boyfriend.

"She had a hard life," said Catherine Heinzelman."She was out there, but doesn't give the right to be murdered. Very good girl."
