Suspect In 2013 Murder Outside Elk's Club Turns In Self

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) -- The suspect sought in a 2013 murder outside the Elk's Club in Beaver County is in custody.

Officials say Eric Washington, 34, turned himself in on Saturday.

Washington is accused of opening fire outside the Elk's Club in April 2013, killing Jerome Goosby and wounding Wally Pickens.

"Eric Washington was known to be a friend of Jerome Goosby, the deceased, but he had a dispute with Wally Pickens," said District Attorney David Lozier.

Authorities say Eric Washington was identified by Pickens as the shooter. Police also recovered a cell phone near the scene that contained Washington's DNA. The District Attorney says Pickens' statement along other witness accounts led to the arrest.

KDKA spoke with Jerome Goosby's mother the day after the shooting in 2013.

"You took my baby's life. Why. I want know why," she said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 19.
