Suspect Charged In Garfield Arson Investigation

GARFIELD (KDKA) - One person has been charged out of an arson investigation in Garfield.

Police said that just before 7 p.m. Thursday, flames broke out on the 5100 block of Rosetta Street and an "arson in progress" was reported.

Firefighters were able to douse the flames and no one was hurt.

Police have charged Rodney Bryant Jr. with several counts of aggravated arson and attempted homicide.

Reports say Bryant wanted to be in a band with several people inside the home rehearsing, but they told him he wasn't ready.

Investigators say he then became angry, poured gasoline on the house and set it on fire.
