Surveillance Video Shown In Trial Of Mom Accused In Toddler's Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- How did strangled three-year-old Adrionna Williams end up near a mound of dirt and debris on an abandoned road last year? Bit by bit, prosecutors are trying to point a finger at her mother, Adrienne Williams.

Adrienne Williams is accused of suffocating her daughter, Adrionna, and dumping the child's body in ravine in June of 2015. The prosecution claims the 26-year-old from Wilkinsburg suffocated her daughter because the girl needed help cleaning herself after using the bathroom.

Thursday attorneys focused on Williams' red Toyota Corolla. Surveillance video shows a red Toyota Corolla near the crime scene where Adrionne disappeared.

Prosecutors haven't been able to positively say the car in the video belongs to Williams. But they say it could be hers.

Jurors were also shown photos of colored paper clips scattered inside Williams' car. These were the same type of paper clips were found lying on the ground near Adrionna Williams' lifeless body.

Jurors are expected to hear Adrienne's videotaped statement to police on Friday.
