Surveillance Cameras Help Police Track Down Etna Bank Robbery Suspect

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A Millvale man has been taken into custody in connection with a bank robbery in Etna last week.

According to Allegheny County officials, 36-year-old Joseph Emanuele is accused of holding up the PNC Bank on Butler Street in the afternoon hours of Aug. 22.

Investigators say he passed the teller a note, saying he had a gun and demanding money from the drawer. No other customers were in the bank at the time.

He got away with a large amount of money.

Authorities say Etna surveillance cameras caught the getaway vehicle, on olive green GMC Jimmy, as it left the scene. Police were able to track down the SUV in Reserve Township.

That led to Emanuele's arrest. He is facing robbery charges.
