Students Escape Injury After Bus Crashes Into Butler Co. Home

BUTLER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A school bus with students on board crashed into a house in Butler County Friday morning.

The Northwest Elementary School bus hit a home in the 100 block of South Duffy Road in Butler Township around 8:50 a.m.

49 students were on the bus at the time. None were seriously injured, but some had bumps and bruises.

According to school officials, the students were picked up by another bus and taken to school.

Officials at the scene reported smelling an odor of natural gas. It is unclear if it was coming from the house or if repairs on a line were being made in the area.

The school bus driver was not injured and the cause of the crash is unknown.
