Strong Form Of Heroin May Be Behind Recent Overdose Deaths

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has issued an alert to the public after three overdose deaths over the past two days.

According to the medical examiner's office, a particularly strong form of heroin may be to blame.

Officials say the three overdose deaths have happened within the last 48 hours in three different neighborhoods.

In each case, the medical examiner's office reports multiple stamp bags were found at the scene, including bags labeled "Theraflu."

Investigators are awaiting the results of definitive testing.
