Police identify parents of young girl found in Stowe Township
STOWE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police in Stowe Township are investigating after a child was found wandering alone in the Pleasant Ridge community after midnight.
She was found around 1 a.m. in the Pleasant Ridge Community Housing facility. Authorities then began searching for her guardians.
The woman who found her described what she saw: "At 12 o'clock at night, a little girl in pink with her shoes untied and her coat opened."
She didn't want to be identified but said she stepped off her front porch to visit a friend when she saw the girl, who didn't know her name or where she lived but said she was 5.
"I was walking, going house to house, trying to find out where she came from," she said.
"She couldn't tell me anything. So I went to my girlfriend's house and that's when we called police."
While detailed information from police isn't available, they did identify her parents.
"If I didn't come out, ain't no telling where that little girl would've been," the woman who found her said.
Police are still asking anyone with information to call them.
