Man Steals Car, Leads Police On High-Speed Pursuit

CRAFTON HEIGHTS (KDKA) -- A man stole a car, allegedly at gunpoint, and then fled from police in Crafton Heights early Sunday morning.

The incident happened on Woodlow Street before 2:30 a.m.

According to police officials, a female driver said she got out of her car on Cherry Court near Woodlow Street, leaving it running. A black male then approached her with a gun and stole the car. The victim told police the man fired one shot away from her, but police say there was no evidence of a shot being fired.

Officers saw the stolen car around 2:30 a.m. as they were driving along Stanford Street. The driver sped away, and officers pursued. The driver continued to speed away, and the officers ended the pursuit.

Officials say the stolen car was located on Cherry Court around 4:30 a.m.
