Steelers Week 6 Injury Report With Frank Velasquez

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - In his weekly "VESLA 360 Injury Report" exclusively on 937thefan.com, former Pittsburgh Pirates trainer Frank Velasquez takes a look at the Steelers Week 6 Injury Report.

The first player Velasquez takes a look at is rookie Linebacker Ryan Shazier who continues his recovery for a strained MCL. Velasquez tells us when he would anticipate Shazier getting back to full strength after missing three consecutive weeks.

"The more functional he gets, the closer he gets to playing," Velasquez said. "I think best case scenario, not this Sunday but next Sunday, it could possibly be the fifth week post where we see this guy."

Velasquez also discussed whether or not Shazier's injury could become a nagging problem for him throughout the year.

"I think if you rehab that properly, it's not like a hamstring you keep tweaking. It's a ligament joint, it gets tightened back up with healing. He's not going to be more susceptible to doing it."
