Steelers' Week 15 Injury Report With Frank Velasquez

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - In his weekly "VESLA 360 Injury Report" exclusively for The Fan, former Pittsburgh Pirates trainer Frank Velasquez examines the Steelers' Week 15 injury report.

Things open up with Velasquez talking about the latest injuries to cornerback Ike Taylor and the knee contusion that caused him to leave Sunday's game against the Bengals.

"That's a scientific name for a bruise," Velasquez told us. "There's not a lot tissue there around the knee, so often times it's to the bone."

On the other side of the ball, this weekend will be the Falcons and Velasquez takes a look at the hip pointer injury to Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones who hasn't practiced this week.

Velasquez talks about the reluctance to allow a guy to play who hasn't practiced all week.

"This late in the season, you still want to take him through some type of activity, that way Julio knows when he'll be able to go on Sunday," Velasquez said.

Listen to the audio below to hear more from Velasquez on the injuries that will impact this Sunday's pivotal Steelers-Falcons matchup.
