Steelers Sign Third-Round Draft Choice To Contract

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the signing of their third-round draft choice Wide Receiver/Running Back Dri Archer to a four-year contract. 

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The speedy Archer (5 feet 8 inches, 173 pounds) was selected with the 97th overall pick out of Kent State.  In his collegiate career, Archer recorded 99 catches for 1,194 yards and 12 touchdowns while rushing for 2,342 yards and 24 touchdowns.

Archer is also an electric kick returner as he fielded 51 of them in his career amassing 1,436 yards and four touchdowns.

With the signing of Archer, the Steelers have now signed eight of their nine selections from the 2014 NFL Draft with only second rounder Stephon Tuitt, a Defensive Lineman from Notre Dame left unsigned.
