Report: Pittsburgh Steelers Interviewing Candidates For Vacant Wide Receivers Coaching Position, Including Former WR Jerricho Cotchery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- According to reports, the Steelers are still mulling over options for the vacant wide receiver coaching position.

After reports surfaced that South Carolina assistant coach Bryan McClendon was joining the team in the same role Sunday, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that McClendon was interviewing for the position Monday morning, and that he is one of a few candidates.

"Not so fast...Steelers still interviewing candidates for WR coach."

Dulac reports that former Steelers wideout Jerricho Cotchery has interviewed for the job. He has been an assistant WR coach with the Carolina Panthers for the last three seasons.

McClendon is the WR coach at South Carolina, where he has been since 2016

The Steelers named Ray Sherman interim receivers coach after late wide receivers coach Darryl Drake died during training camp.
