Steelers Re-Sign, Will Allen, Greg Warren & Cody Wallace
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers resigned three players Thursday morning.
According to a statement from the team, the Steelers have signed safety Will Allen and long-snapper Greg Warren to one-year deals.
In 17 games with the Cowboys and Steelers last season, Allen recorded 42 tackles, two interceptions and four passes defended.
Allen, a 2004 fourth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccanneers, spent the 2010-12 seasons with the Steelers before moving on to Dallas.
Warren was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Steelers in 2005 and has played for the team ever since.
The Steelers also re-signed offensive lineman Cody Wallace to a three-year deal. Wallace came to Pittsburgh after being released by the Buccaneers prior to the 2013 season.
Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The Steelers also signed safety Mike Mitchell on Tuesday.
In 15 games with the Carolina Panthers last year, Mitchell had 67 combined tackles with four sacks and four interceptions.
Mitchell was originally drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft.
Herb White, sports rditor of the Charlotte Post, weighed in on this signing for the Steelers.
Of Mitchell, he says, "Pittsburgh is gonna get a steal, this guy is a hammer for real."
