Steelers' Draft Pick Reunites With Lake

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - With a couple of fifth-round picks in the 2014 NFL Draft and still looking to solidify depth at cornerback, the Steelers turned to a unique insider from within to do just that.

With the 157th pick, Pittsburgh selected corner Shaquille Richardson, a 6-foot, 194-pound product out of Arizona.

Richardson's college career commenced at UCLA when he was recruited by Steelers defensive backs coach Carnell Lake.

Now, the duo is reunited.

"I remember [Lake] as being a great person and somebody I can really look up to as a football player," Richardson said. "I'm so happy to be back under him, learning from him, and ready to be a Pittsburgh Steeler. It's crazy."

Ray Fittapaldo's story in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette highlights Richardson's relationship with Lake, as well as what led Richardson to be dismissed from UCLA.
