Steelers Could Lose Dir. Of Football Administration To Dolphins

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - According to Scott Brown of ESPN.com, the Miami Dolphins have requested permission to interview the Steelers Director of Football  of Administration Omar Khan for their open General Manager position.

The 36-year-old Khan has been serving the Steelers as their head of contract negotiations while also being a key figure behind the scenes for the organization.

While it only seems a matter of time before the Steelers lose Khan to another organization, he has interviewed for general manager positions in other organizations in the past, but has always remained with the Steelers.

As you can read in Brown's piece, the Steelers have been preparing for Khan's departure if it happens as they have recently hired an assistant to work at Khan's side.

For more information on the state of the Steelers, you can hear Starkey and Mueller's interview with Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette as he detailed his meeting with team President Art Rooney II earlier this week.

Bouchette talked with Rooney about everything from Ben Roethlisberger remaining a Steeler for the rest of his career to his excitement over the direction of the team heading into the 2014 season.
