Steelers Cornerback Golson Could Need Surgery On Foot

LATROBE, Pa. (AP) - Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson suffered a Lisfranc injury and could need surgery.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin confirmed Golson's mid-foot injury following Wednesday's training camp practice at St. Vincent College. He did not say how long Golson would be sidelined.

Golson left Monday's practice on a cart after he was injured away from a run play during an 11-on-11 drill. He limped behind a crowd of teammates after the play and slammed his helmet to the ground in frustration.

Golson, the Steelers' second-round pick in 2015, missed his rookie season with a shoulder injury. The 5-foot-9, 176-pound former Mississippi standout, missed the majority of spring practices, but took snaps at training camp with the first-team defense as the slot cornerback before his injury.
