Steelers Analyst Chris Hoke Says Ben's Message To Bryant Is Spot On

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- KDKA-TV Steelers Analyst and former Steelers defensive lineman Chris Hoke joined "The Cook and Poni Show" on Wednesday to help preview the Steelers' Wild Card game Saturday night against the Bengals in Cincinnati.

Hoke said he remembers going to Cincinnati in 2005, where the Steelers started their Super Bowl run.
"We got in through the back door," Hoke said. "Then, we started knocking down teams one by one."

Hoke likes the Steelers in this one because of the battles they won up front the last time these two teams played. But, he admits he is a little concerned about the inconsistency of the defense and the balance of the offense if DeAngelo Williams can't go.

He agrees that the Steelers will need more from the receivers other than Antonio Brown. For that reason, he supports the message sent by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger yesterday when he called out Martavis Bryant.

"He needs to understand that, and this is coming from love from me and other guys, that this time of year, you've got to toughen up. You've got to get tough and you've got to make tough plays and you've got to make tough catches and you have to find ways to do everything you can to help this team," Roethlisberger said,

"The message was right on," Hoke said. "These games get bigger now and they need Martavis Bryant to play like he did a month ago or they are not going to advance."
