WATCH: Huge Crowd Greets Steel Valley Football Team After State Title Victory

MUNHALL (KDKA) -- A line of police cars and fire trucks accompanied the Steel Valley High School football team home Saturday night, where a huge crowd was waiting to celebrate their state title victory.

Steel Valley went undefeated this season, winning every game by mercy rule, and they continued their domination at the PIAA Class 2A final Saturday, beating defending champion Southern Columbia 49-7.

This is Steel Valley's first state title in school history.

A crowd of both students and adults gathered outside the school Saturday night to wait for the team to return from Hershey, Pa.

As the team stepped off the bus and walked into the school's gymnasium, "We Are The Champions" played, and the crowd cheered, waved handmade signs, and chanted, "We are SV!"
