Man Arrested For German Twp. Armed Robbery

GERMAN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State Police in Fayette County have arrested a suspect wanted in an armed robbery and shooting in German Township.

The incident happened at the Footedale Market in the 200-block of Water Street on Monday.

Police have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Robert Miller.

According to police, Miller went into the store, demanded money from the register and then headed towards the market's back office when he was confronted by a man in the store.

Authorities say that's when the he pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim. The victim backed away, but suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his leg.

Miller got away on foot before police arrived.

He was wearing a sweatshirt and red cloth over his face at the time of the robbery.

The man who was shot is expected to make a full recovery.

Miller was arrested Tuesday evening at his mother's home in North Union Township and charged with robbery, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and theft.

He is being held at the Fayette County Prison on $250,000 bond.
