State Police: Bear Hunter Shoots Self In Foot In Vehicle

RIDGWAY, Pa. (AP) - State police say a Pennsylvania bear hunter apparently shot himself in the foot as he was preparing to leave his home.

Troopers from the Ridgway barracks say the 58-year-old man was moving a gun inside his vehicle as he prepared for the trip when it fired, hitting him in the foot.

Police say they're still investigating and didn't immediately release the name of the man or his condition.

The shooting happened just before 10 a.m. Saturday in Ridgway Township, Elk County.
