Starkey & Mueller's Best Sports Celebrations Of All Time
There may be nothing better in sports than celebrating a big moment for your team.
As fans we may jump up and down in the stands, high-five and embrace perfect strangers or go the traditional route of clapping and yelling.
The only thing better is seeing the reaction of the athletes on the field.
Over the years, we've been treated to some brilliant celebrations in the world of sports.
They ranged from creative to controversial and everywhere in between, but we're always left wondering, "What's next?"
93-7 The Fan's Chris Mueller and Joe Starkey recently picked their top three sports celebrations of all time.
Some of these are slam dunks, while some others are oldies, but goodies.
So, here's each of their top three celebrations.
Joe Starkey's Picks
The Lambeau Leap - "One of the greatest traditions of all-time in sports."
The Jagr Salute - "Which was the best goal celebration, wasn't it? And I didn't even like Jagr, I hated him! But, the Jagr salute was tremendous."
The Pirates' Z - "It's one of the great celebrations in Pittsburgh sports history for sure! This has been the theme of the resurgence of the Pirates."
Chris Mueller's Picks
The Ickey Shuffle - "Is there anything better than seeing the guy dance on the sidelines? He does the Ickey Shuffle. There's T-shirts you can buy about this. It was just a wonderful little fun dance move."
The Homer Jones Touchdown Spike - "This is the celebration that everybody does. It's the only league-wide one. Yeah, in Green Bay they all jump into the stands. Everybody spikes the ball!"
[As demonstrated in the video by New England Patriots tight end, Rob Gronkowski]
Teemu Selanne Shooting The Glove - "Throw the glove and shoot it down. The shooting gun, stick celebration from maybe the most beloved player of this generation."
The guys also mentioned Tiger Woods' fist pump, Alex Kovalev's moonwalking on ice and Deion Sanders' high-stepping.
What's your favorite sports celebration?
