St. Patrick's Day Parade Draws Thousands
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Parade drew thousands of people downtown Saturday for what police call a "busy but calm" celebration.
Police say more than 200,000 people were present at the festivities, and they called the huge crowd "well-behaved."
The Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety reported that two men were arrested at the post-parade celebrations in Market Square, however. A 48-year-old man was arrested following a domestic, and a 50-year-old man was arrested on multiple charges, including terroristic threats and aggravated assault. Police also issued two citations for public urination, and at least 11 under-age drinking citations were issued in Market Square.

Meanwhile in the South Side, police say only one arrest was made, via summons, for DUI, but they did issue 34 citations.
Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., emergency medical services transported 11 patients downtown, and in the South Side, EMS transported 30 patients. Additionally, a man was rushed to UPMC Mercy in critical condition Saturday night after falling off a second-floor porch during a St. Patrick's Day party on the South Side.
Police also say clean-up from the parade was done by 6 p.m., and clean-up efforts were still underway on the South Side Sunday morning.
