UPMC St. Margaret Offering Free CPR Training In August

FREEPORT (KDKA) -- UPMC St. Margaret Nursing Education Department and St. Margaret foundation are partnering to offer free CPR training on Monday, August 5 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

CPR can double or triple the chances of survival when immediately provided to a victim of cardiac arrest.

WHAT: The UPMC St. Margaret nursing education department is partnering with the St. Margaret Foundation to offer a free Community HeartSaver CPR Course to residents of the local area.
Note: The course is not intended for health care providers. Pre-registration is required by contacting Janice Cavalier at CavalierJA@upmc.edu or 412-784-5903
WHY: According to the American Heart Association, more than 475,000 Americans die each year from cardiac arrest. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), can double or triple the chances of survival when immediately provided to a victim of cardiac arrest.
