Report: Vontaze Burfict's Suspension Will Stand, Appeal Denied

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Reports say Vontaze Burfict's appeal has been shot down, and his three-game suspension will stand.

The Bengals linebacker was handed the suspension after a brutal hit on Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown that caused a concussion.

ESPN reporter Dan Graziano tweeted Thursday that the suspension was upheld by appeals officer Derrick Brooks.

He also reported that Burfict along with his agent and Bengals coach Mavin Lewis met today with Goodell and Troy Vincent following the denial of the appeal.

That meeting was reportedly requested by Burfict, to "discuss his behavior and what to do going forward."
