Son Facing Charges In Stabbing Attack On Father In Fayette Co.

SOUTH CONNELLSVILLE (KDKA) -- A Fayette County man is behind bars, facing charges in an alleged stabbing attack that sent his own father to the hospital with serious injuries.

The incident happened at a home in the 100-block of West Painter Street in South Connellsville.

According to court documents, 20-year-old Matthew Taylor Sanner is accused of attacking his father, Timothy Sanner, Sr., after a verbal altercation.

What prompted the argument isn't known, but by the time South Connellsville Police rolled up to the scene, Timothy Sanner had already been stabbed repeatedly.

After cuffing his son, Timothy Sanner then told police, "He stabbed me in the neck and chest. I need an ambulance."

The elder Sanner was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. He was last listed in serious condition.

His son now faces criminal attempted murder and numerous other assault counts.

As his father continues to fight to say alive, Matthew Sanner is in the Fayette County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bond.
