State Police Searching For Burglary Suspect In Somerset

SOMERSET TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- State police are searching for a young man who is wanted in connection to a burglary that took place Thursday afternoon in Somerset.

The burglary happened at a home on Piersol Road sometime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

According to state police, the suspect was seen in the area of the home the day of the burglary. Police say he knocked on the door of the home and attempted to sell something, which police believe was a distraction or a way to check to see if anyone was home after the suspect saw one of the homeowners leave.

State police say he later entered the home without force and stole cash and change from a bedroom.

The suspect is described as a white man between the ages of 18 and 20. He had shoulder-length blonde hair and no facial hair. He was between 5-feet-6-inches and 5-feet-8-inches tall. He was driving a small, possibly 2-door, dark gray car.
