1 Person Killed, Another Hurt In Butler Co. Crash

SLIPPERY ROCK (KDKA) -- One person was killed in a crash in Butler County Tuesday night.

State police say the accident happened in the 600 block of Slippery Rock Road in Slippery Rock Township around 9:15 p.m.

State police say a Roadster kit car was traveling north when the driver lost control, went off the road and struck a tree. Both people in the car were thrown from the vehicle.

The passenger, 26 year old Tanya Tyson of Butler, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 39 year old Aaron Burd of Butler, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital with severe injuries. Neither was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
