Photos: Seven Springs, Hidden Valley Resorts Start Making Snow

SEVEN SPRINGS (KDKA) -- Snow started falling in the Pittsburgh area this weekend, which means it's time for Seven Springs and Hidden Valley resorts to start making some snow of their own.

The resorts confirmed Sunday morning that, with the arrival of frigid temperatures, snowmaking was officially underway. The snowguns were turned on at both Seven Springs and Hidden Valley resorts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, and they will continue to run as long as conditions allow.

Don't start packing your skis and snowboards just yet, though. Opening dates have not yet been determined. If temperatures rise, the system will have to be shut down until the necessary conditions return.

Some flurries are expected in the area Monday, but temperatures will climb into the high 40s and low 50s later in the week, with flurries turning back to showers.
